The verdict
The Gen 2 keeps the familiar Aerox 3 honeycomb shell but replaces the internals: a TrueMove 26K sensor, 4K wireless polling, 80-million-click mechanical switches and up to 200 hours of battery over Bluetooth. PC Gamer, Shacknews, Gaming Trend and Digitally Downloaded see it as a sensible refresh that makes a mid-priced mouse competitive again, and they like how light and comfortable it is. The criticisms: the perforated design looks dated and collects dust, there’s nowhere to store the dongle, battery life falls sharply at 4K or with lighting on, and the shape is on the small side for palm grips.
It launched in April 2026, so there aren’t enough long-term buyer ratings yet for a Player score.
It suits players with small-to-medium hands who want a light wireless mouse with Bluetooth for everyday use at a lower price than the flagship ultralights. This entry replaces the older Aerox 3 Wireless (2020 and 2022 editions), which SteelSeries has now superseded.
